Esborrant la ciutat : conseqüències de l'especulació i el turisme massiu al patrimoni comercial de Barcelona

Abstract

Esborrant la ciutat és un projecte que pretén generar una reflexió sobre el model turístic actual i les conseqüències que aquest comporta a nivell social i patrimonial a Barcelona. Té com a objectiu mostrar els efectes negatius de la gentrificació i el turisme de masses, exemplificats en una pèrdua de patrimoni i d’identitat de la ciutat. És un treball que neix de la disconformitat per la creixent despersonalització dels barris més turístics i, per conseqüència, una sensació de pèrdua de pertinença de la pròpia ciutat; i que vol difondre i visibilitzar la situació actual. El procés de treball es realitza a partir de l’anàlisi de l’estat del patrimoni històric comercial del districte de Ciutat Vella, i seleccionant els casos amb més ressò, per després intervenir-hi en el resultat final, que es materialitzarà en una acció de protesta.

Esborrant la ciutat is a project that aims to generate a reflection on the current tourism model and the consequences that this entails at the social and heritage fields in Barcelona. It aims to show the negative effects of gentrification and mass tourism, transferred to a loss of heritage and identity of the city. It is a work that arises from disagreement over the growing depersonalization of the most tourist locations and, consequently, a sense of loss of belonging to the city itself; and it wants to spread and make visible the current situation. The work process is carried out from the analysis of the historical commercial district status of Ciutat Vella district, selecting the cases with more echo, and then intervening in those places as a final result, which will materialise as an act of protest.
