L'interiorisme comercial de Seat a Barcelona : modernitat arquitectònica en temps de postguerra

Abstract

La arquitectura para la nueva industria que se construyó en la Barcelona de los años autárquicos de la posguerra, requirió de una gran dosis de inventiva, audacia y de una estrecha colaboración entre todos los agentes. En este entorno, en 1957, César Ortiz-Echagüe y Rafael Echaide proyectaron los cuatro edificios de la filial de SEAT en Barcelona, donde quisieron dotar de modernidad a la marca a través de una estructura de acero vista, que definía a través de su módulo el resto de elementos del proyecto. Tanto las carpinterías de aluminio, como las juntas del pavimento o la disposición de las instalaciones siguen con precisión el ritmo marcado por las líneas negras de la estructura. El interior fue concebido para la admiración del coche a través del diseño de un entorno tecnológico definido por sus materiales y la precisión con la que se ejecutó. El edificio como una máquina. The architecture for the new industry that was being built in Barcelona in the autarkic years of the post-war period required a great deal of inventiveness, audacity and close collaboration between all actors. In 1957, César Ortiz-Echagüe and Rafael Echaide projected the four buildings of the SEAT subsidiary in Barcelona, where they wanted to modernise the brand with a steel structure, which defined the remaining elements of the project through its module. Both the aluminium joinery, the floor coverings or the layout of the installations accurately follow the rhythm marked by the black lines of the structure. The interior was conceived through the design of a technological environment for the admiration of the car itself. Its materials and the precision with which it was executed define it.
