Abstract

Design methodologies subordinate the creative process to a hierarchy, linearity and control that limit the possibilities of creating by the designer to a kit of pre-established values set on from the start. The indiscriminate use of methodologies to mediate any creative project, limits the possible results, ignoring a large territory where exploration and randomness could offer unexpected solutions. The paradigms of other disciplines, present through design methods are imposed on creativity in an attempt to give objectivity and efficiency to the practice of design.
