Rauxa : redisseny de les tradicionals bitlles catalanes

Abstract

Les bitlles catalanes són un esport tradicional català que cada vegada és menys conegut. Se sap, però, que en molts punts de Catalunya se segueix practicant de manera assídua. El que Rauxa pretén és recuperar aquesta tradició fent una reinterpretació del joc per apropar-lo a la societat actual, allunyant-se de l’estètica original però seguint amb el concepte d’artesania. El projecte ha estat plantejat a Productes de la Terra, marca principal de comerç electrònic de marxandatge que promou la cultura catalana. Degut a la demanda de prototips que aquesta proposa, es decideix dissenyar a més del joc, el sistema de producció d’aquest. El resultat final és la creació d’una màquina de rotomoldeig casolana, la qual permet l’autoproducció d’un model repetible a partir d’una artesania industrialitzada. Amb aquest treball s’ha testejat el sistema de fabricació obtenint com a resultat el prototip del joc. Tanmateix i com a via de continuïtat, s’ha comprovat que el producte final es podria produir amb aquest mateix sistema.

The Bitlles Catalanes, (Catalan Skittles or Catalan Bowling as it would translate to English) is a traditional Catalan sport that is losing presence as time goes by. Nonetheless, in many concentrated regions in Catalonia it is still practiced on a regular basis. What Rauxa seeks to achieve is to recover this tradition by reinterpreting the game for it to fit better with today’s society, moving away from the original looks of the game but still doing it from an artisan point of view. The project has been set in the context of Productes de la Terra, main online seller of Catalan culture promoting merchandise. The brand asked for final prototypes of the product, and so the project evolved to designing both the product and the production system for it. The final result is a homemade rotomolding machine, which allows for self-production of the product coming from an artisan system. In this line of work a production system has been tested obtaining a final prototype as a result. As a direction in which to continue, there is assurance that the final product can be produced with this same system.
