Abstract

El meu TFG explora els vincles que els humans tenim amb els objectes a través de la teoria de la O.O.O de Graham Harman, l’assaig de El poder de lo cuqui de Simon May i l’objecte transicional de Winnicott. D’aquestes tres teories pretenc extreure una forma de generar un objecte singular, que trenqui amb la jerarquia subjecte-objecte tradicional, a l’hora de relacionar-te i establir un vincle amb ell. Així mateix, volia donar-li el valor afegit de què aquest objecte ajudes a la salut mental de l’humà a qui acompanyés. Partint d’aquesta base teòrica trobem que, un objecte que s’adapta perfectament a les característiques que busquem, és la joguina, i els millors usuaris per a les joguines són els nens. Així doncs, em vaig posar en contacte amb una psicòloga infantil amb la qual vam dur a terme aquest projecte de codesign. La psicòloga anomenada Gemma Funes, treballa per a l’associació Trampolí, que porta logopedes i psicòlegs a escoles públiques a barris obrers. Amb ella vam crear i portar a cap uns tallers, amb nens que tenien pors i ansietats, en els quals treballàvem aquestes i creàvem uns peluixos que transicionaven de les pors al confort. En els tallers, treballàvem les pors amb a través de la música i amb instruments, les dibuixàvem i les modelàvem amb fang per a posteriorment destruir-les i construir una figura de confort, així i tot, no hi ha unes instruccions concretes sobre com dur a terme els tallers, ja que cada un va ser diferent de l’altre i adaptat als nens que el feien. Així doncs, això no es tracta del disseny d’un procés, sinó més aviat, d’una metodologia qualitativa. Cada peluix és singular i neix del taller amb el nen, per això al meu TFG l’acompanya una col·lecció d’11 revistes on s’expliquen els 11 casos un per un.

My TFG explores the bond that humans have with objects through the Graham Harman O.O.O. theory, the essay “El Poder De Lo Cuqui” by Simon May and Winnicott’s transitional object. I intend to deduce a way to generate a singular object out of these three theories, an item that breaks the traditional subject-object hierarchy when you establish a link with it. In addition, I wanted to give it the extra value that this object would help the mental health of the human whom it accompanied. Starting from this theoretical basis, we find that an object that perfectly fits the traits we are looking for is a toy, and the best users for toys are children. So, I contacted the psychologist Gemma Funes with who I carried out this codesing project. She works for the “Trampolí” association, which brings speech therapists and psychologists to public schools in working-class neighborhoods. We created plush toys through the fears and anxieties of the kids we worked with, transitioning their fears into comfort. In the workshops, we addressed those fears through music and instruments, we drew and modeled them with clay to later destroy them, building comfort in the process. However, there aren’t any specific instructions on how to do the workshops, since each one was adapted to the children who did it. So, this isn’t about the design of a process but rather a qualitative methodology. Each plush is unique and is born from the workshop with a kid, which is why my TFG comes with a collection of 11 magazines where all the 11 stories are explained in detail.
