Periferias

Abstract

Periferias es un proyecto editorial que nace con el objetivo de informar, plasmar y empoderar el barrio de Barcelona El Carmel a través de su historia, así como el contexto del barrio, su gente y las problemáticas que se ha encontrado desde sus orígenes, a nivel urbanístico y social sobre todo, y como estas han ido evolucionando a lo largo del tiempo. El proyecto explora el término de barrio y especula sobre sus límites y su espacio e intenta reflexionar sobre su condición de barrio periférico y su estado de desigualdad. El proyecto busca que, a través del diseño, se genere crítica, impacto y memoria colectiva para, finalmente, dar una forma gráfica a toda esta historia y así ordenarla y dignificarla. Por otro lado se muestran diferentes proyectos artísticos que se desarrollan en el barrio por gente del barrio. Entrevistas y reportajes al vecindario, y artículos de gran interés tanto para la gente del barrio como para gente de fuera, que reflexionan sobre la identidad, el formar parte de un grupo entre otros. Finalmente, el proyecto se completa gracias al planteamiento de colección; una revista cada 6 meses de un barrio “periférico” (en todos sus contextos) de Barcelona.

Periferias és un projecte editorial que neix amb l’objectiu d’informar, plasmar i empoderar el barri de Barcelona El Carmel a través de la seva història, així com el context del barri, la seva gent i les problemàtiques que s’ha trobat des dels seus orígens, a nivell urbanístic i social sobretot, i com aquestes han anat evolucionant. El projecte explora el terme de barri i especula sobre els seus límits i el seu espai i intenta reflexionar sobre la seva condició de barri perifèric i el seu estat de desigualtat. El projecte busca que, a través del disseny, es generi crítica, impacte i memòria col·lectiva per a, finalment, donar una forma gràfica a tota aquesta història i així ordenar-la i dignificar-la. D’altra banda es mostren diferents projectes artístics que es desenvolupen en el barri per gent del barri. Entrevistes i reportatges al veïnat, i articles de gran interès tant per a la gent del barri com per a gent de fora, que reflexionen sobre la identitat, el formar part d’un grup entre altres. Finalment, el projecte es completa gràcies al plantejament de col·lecció; una revista cada 6 mesos d’un barri “perifèric” (en tots els seus contextos) de Barcelona.

Periferias is an editorial project which was born with the aim of informing, shaping and empowering the neighborhood of El Carmel, in Barcelona, through its history, as well as the context of the neighborhood, its people and the problems that have been found since its origins, at the urban and social issue above all, and how these problems have evolved over time. The project explores the term “neighborhood” and speculates on its boundaries and its space and tries to reflect on one of the suburbs of Barcelona and its state of inequality. The project seeks criticism, impact and collective memory through design. The project consists of giving a graphic shape to this whole story to sort and dignify it. On the other hand, different artistic projects are shown that are developed in the neighborhood by people of the neighborhood. Interviews and reports to the neighborhood, and articles of great interest to both the people of the neighborhood and to people from outside, who reflect on the identity, being part of a group among others. Finally, the project is completed thanks to the collection approach; a magazine every 6 months of a “peripheral” neighborhood (in all its contexts) of Barcelona.
