abstract = {La ilustración humorística, presente de un modo u otro en la mayoría de publicaciones regulares de información, cultura y entretenimiento, es una fuente inagotable de documentación, especialmente en los años de postguerra y el inicio del desarrollismo. Para hacer una primera aproximación, nos centramos en el trabajo de cuatro ilustradores catalanes de distinto perfil: Cram (seudónimo del artista de vanguardia Marc Aleu), influído por Saul Steinberg; Valentí Castanys y Jip, que trabajaron para la revista Destino y manifestaron el gusto conservador y escéptico de la burguesía; y un Cesc aún en su primera época, dibujante de carácter comprometido. La realidad y las contradicciones de la sociedad bajo el franquismo, el problema del “sentido común” como recurso de humor, los valores de la clase media, de la prudencia burguesa y de su tendencia a la resignación, son problemas y actitudes que subyacen en estos trabajos.},
abstract = {The cartoon and humoristic illustration, present in most of the press and magazines of culture and entertainment, are an inexhaustible source of documentation, especially on the postwar years and the beginning of modern consumer society. To make a first approach, we focus on the work of four Catalan illustrators of different profiles: Cram (pseudonym of the avant-garde artist Marc Aleu), with clear influence of Saul Steinberg; Valentí Castanys and Jip, who worked for the magazine Destino and manifested the conservative and skeptical taste of the bourgeoisie; and Cesc, still in his first period, a cartoonist with social and political concerns. The reality and contradictions of the society under the Franco regime, the problem of “common sense” as a resource of humor, the values of the middle class and their tendency to resignation or at least to prudence, are problems and attitudes underliened in these works.},
